The private jet experience has been getting more attention during the COVID-19 pandemic, and for good reason. More people are discovering that flying private offers a higher level of cleanliness and personal health and safety compared to its commercial counterparts. And yet private operators continue to maximize their efforts in creating safer, healthier flights for all passengers.
At Access Jet Group, we’ve partnered with private aircraft operators that put health and safety as their top priority. We hold high minimum standards across all of our charter flights to earn your trust and ensure the best possible experience. As a result, here’s what you can expect from our COVID-safe flying approach:
A Thorough Pre-Flight Check and Cleaning
Every flight goes through a comprehensive cleaning, including the sanitization of all surfaces and touchpoints (e.g., armrests, handles, cup holders, etc.). We also place a high importance on private jet air quality in the event you choose not to wear a mask during your flight. After cleaning, the cabin is sealed to prevent potential contamination so that when you arrive, the cabin is as clean as the professional cleaning crew left it.
We also conduct a pre-flight check with our all of our passengers. Our goal is for all your flight documentation to be organized prior to your arrival at the terminal to minimize the time spent in the airport. We may also be able to arrange for you to wait in your car until the aircraft is ready for you to board. If an unforeseen delay arises, we will communicate these changes to you so you can plan a later arrival to the airport.
Crew Health and Safety Checks
The health and safety on board each of our charter flights is of the utmost importance to us. This means not only conducting health screenings for our passenger, but also our pilots and crew. Your aircraft crew members are routinely tested for COVID-19 and antibodies. They are also subject to temperature checks and oxygen levels throughout the day and will be released from their duties should their screenings fall below optimal levels.
COVID-Safe Boarding Protocols
Inherent to private air travel, passengers have very little contact with others during boarding and departure. That’s because many private aircraft operators use private terminals that are separate from the main airport, or operate in smaller airports where commercial travel isn’t available. This means you can reduce your exposure to others —and by extension, your risk of exposure to COVID-19. Crew members will not try to shake your head and also wear masks on board the aircraft. You also have the option of handling your own luggage, and if you prefer the crew to manage your luggage for you, gloves are available to minimize contact.
Onboard Health and Safety
Private air travel offers a higher level of comfort and personalization. This was true before the pandemic and bears greater importance today. For example, you may choose not to have a flight attendant in the cabin with you during your travels in effort to limit exposure to others. And if you do choose to have a flight attendant on board, you may request they wear a face mask during service.
We are also expanding passenger options when it comes to in-flight service. For example, guests may prefer a self-service option for snacks and drinks to limit contact with crew. We can work with you on a case-by-case basis to customize your in-flight experience in a way that feels safe and comfortable to you.
A Post-Flight Focus on Well-Being
Our service to you doesn’t end with the wheels hit the tarmac. We remain committed to your health and safety from the time you disembark the aircraft and in the days following your flight. If any of your crew or personnel were to test positive for COVID within two weeks of your flight, we will notify you immediately.
